The increased communication flow of the past few weeks has inspired me
to "productize" and make generally available for free the Ukrainian
phonetic keyboard software that I've been using for quite a while now to
write and edit documents and email in Ukrainian.

If you run Windows XP and are frustrated or dissatisfied with your
current Ukrainian keyboard, this one could be more to your liking.
Several other available phonetic keyboard drivers were evaluated
(perhaps you are already using one of these) before deciding to produce
yet another one. It already has several satisfied users in this area.

The standard Microsoft Ukrainian keyboard driver included in Windows XP
is based on the layout of a Ukrainian typewriter keyboard, making it
difficult to use, learn and memorize.

This keyboard driver, by contrast, maps Ukrainian Cyrillic characters
phonetically onto the standard qwerty keyboard that all of us grew up
with and have attached to our computers. It was produced using Microsoft
documented and supported keyboard-customization software and
installation procedures, so no special font libraries or strange
software are required. Installation is a snap, and you can toggle
between English and Ukrainian keyboards at any time with a single
keystroke or two mouse clicks.

Note that this keyboard applies only to Windows XP and not to earlier
versions such as Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, or 2000, nor to the Macintosh.
